How can I book an appointment?

  • Appointments can be requested via WhatsApp, or by contacting Physio Companion at [email protected] or +65 8093 0451. Appointment requests are preferences only and are confirmed once checked against the clinic's schedule.

What happens at a first physiotherapy appointment?

  • A standard session lasts 45 minutes (an extended session or home visit lasts 60 minutes). An assessment is carried out at the start of every session, and treatment is tailored according to the findings. Patients are encouraged to bring any relevant MRI or X-ray scans, wear suitable clothing for assessment and examination (the clinic does not provide a change of clothes), and to text ahead if running late.

Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist in Singapore?

  • No — a doctor's referral is not mandatory for self-paying patients. If you'd like one, a referral letter can be obtained from a general practitioner or an orthopaedic surgeon. If you plan to claim your session through insurance, check directly with your insurer, as some providers require a doctor's referral for reimbursement.

Does Physio Companion accept insurance, Medisave, or corporate insurance?

  • There is currently no direct insurance billing — insurance claims are handled through reimbursement, so you pay at the time of your session and claim back from your provider separately. If you're unsure whether your policy or referral letter qualifies, it's best to check directly with your insurance agent before booking.

How much does a physiotherapy session cost?

  • Standard session (45 minutes): S$200. Extended session or home visit (60 minutes): S$250. Modalities are charged additionally where applicable. (Prices are last updated April 2026, and are subject to change)

Do you offer home visits or only clinic appointments?

  • Yes — Physio Companion offers extended 60-minute home visit sessions at S$250, in addition to standard in-clinic appointments.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • Physio Companion accepts major credit cards via Paywave, PayNow, and PayLah.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

  • Cancellations and rescheduling both require at least 12 hours' notice ahead of your appointment time.

Will I receive an invoice or receipt for my session?

  • Yes — an invoice is sent digitally by email after each session, which you can use for your own records or for insurance reimbursement.

Is there an age limit for physiotherapy treatment?

  • There is no fixed upper age limit. Physio Companion treats patients above schooling age who are able to understand and follow instructions during their assessment and treatment.

Can physiotherapy help if I'm not in pain, just experiencing lingering discomfort?

  • Yes. You don't need to be in significant pain to benefit from physiotherapy. Lingering discomfort, stiffness, or a nagging sense that something "isn't quite right" is often an early sign of an underlying issue — and addressing it early is usually easier and faster than waiting until it becomes a bigger problem. An assessment can identify the underlying cause of the discomfort and guide you on whether treatment, targeted exercise, or simple monitoring is the right next step.

Does Physiotherapy hurt?

  • Physiotherapy should not be painful. You may feel some mild soreness or discomfort after certain treatments, such as deep tissue work or exercises targeting a stiff or injured area, but your physiotherapist will keep treatment within a comfortable range and adjust it based on how you respond.

What should I wear to my Physiotherapy appointment?

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated — for example, shorts for a knee or hip issue, or a loose t-shirt or tank top for a shoulder or neck issue. Athletic shoes are recommended over sandals or heels if your session involves any standing or walking assessment.

Can I continue my exercises at home between sessions?

  • Yes — and it's encouraged. Your physiotherapist will typically give you a home exercise programme to support your in-clinic treatment, since consistent practice between sessions is one of the biggest factors in how quickly you recover.
